That event is called the Shaggs, highly considered to be the worst rock group in history with one of the best albums ever, "Philosophy of the World". Frank Zappa, NRBQ, and even Kurt Cobain loved this form of indie rock/outsider music made by untalented buff girls from New Hampshire. These girls were poor and they played horrible, so their dad decided to sell their soul to Teriyaki Yoko, but then more things happened. The Shaggs became a watercolored Satanic band! How's this for hitting the ground running? In 1941, at 16, Joan Leslie starred opposite Gary Cooper (Sergeant York) and Humphrey Bogart (High Sierra). At 17, opposite James Cagney (Yankee Doodle Dandy) and Henry Fonda (The Male Animal). And at 18? How about Fred Astaire (The Sky's The Limit)?
