Limba Noastra - Cetatea (Alexei Mateevici lyrics)

Thanks to plyrgheorghe for the translation! "Our language is a treasure Buried in deep abysms A rosary of rare stones Scattered upon our ancient land. Our language is fire that burns In the heart of a people, which suddenly Awoke from death-like slumber Like heroes from fairy tales. Our language is pure music, Doina vibrating with passion, Swarm of thunders, that burst through Black clouds and blue skies. Our language is the voice of bread, Swinged in summer by the wind, By speaking it our elders With their sweat sanctified our lands. Our language is the green of leaves, Sounds from the eternal forests, The gentle Nistru, that in its waves Loses evening stars' candles. You shall not cry with deep sorrow For the poverty of your mother tongue, You will see, how deeply generous is The tongue of our beloved land. Our language is ancient chronicles, Tales from times long forgotten; Following their gallant stories You're deeply moved and tremble. Our language has been chosen To praise all of God's creation To speak in altars and in homes The wisdom of the eternal truth. Our language is a holy one, The tongue of ancient struggles, In which they cry, in which they sing In their ancestral land the peasants. Revive your ancient tongue, Rusted by all the centuries, Remove the mouldness and the dust Of the oblivion it lies in. Gather the shining stone Lit by the sun himself -- And in the shining river you shall have A new torrent of words. A treasure will emerge Buried in deep abysms, A rosary of rare stones Scattered upon our ancient land." Limba noastră-i frunză verde, Zbuciumul din codrii veşnici, Nistrul lin, ce-n valuri pierde Ai luceferilor sfeşnici. Nu veţi plânge-atunci amarnic, Că vi-i limba prea săracă, Şi-ţi vedea, cât îi de darnic Graiul ţării noastre dragă. Limba noastră-i vechi izvoade.

Master LL's Project P3 (Game Music Video)

Video recorded by Master LL ( http://themasterll.net ) ** WILL CONTAIN FULL SPOILERS! ** -------------------- ------ {About Project P3} ------ It's finally completed! This "Game Music Video(s)" consist of three parts. Each with its own individual title which represents entirely the theme and entity of the video. Meaning of "P3" in "Project P3": "Project 3" (3rd project I've worked on to this date) "Persona 3" (The game the project is on) "Part 3" (Three parts to the Project) Meaningful eh? ------ [01] Unspoken Memories ------ I had this planned out ever since I heard the song I wanted to use. Amazingly the result is exactly like I wanted (aside from some minor effects and such which I have no experience or knowledge to fix). Every scene and where it is played have an important meaning to it. ------ [02] 祭りの夢 ------ A sudden change of mood and scenery, "Matsuri no Yume" is a tribute... the Dreams of FEStival. Lyrics for the song at the very bottom. ------ [03] Reminiscence ------ This final video took a while to figure out what title I should use. Chosen title fits perfectly, considering the clips that are shown (memorable, enjoyable, funny and sad). -------------------- "To the Other Side of Sorrow" If I can make my way to the other side of sorrow... then I don't need warmth or tomorrow anymore. The dream that landed in the darkness of silence. Who...? Is the light that briefly spilled on my cheeks. Why...? Without knowing the method to stop an all too fragile world. I was simply wishing, that's right, for oblivion. If I can make my way to the other side of sorrow... then I'd like to not feel anything beyond this anymore. Will you return to the other side of despair? The utmost love entrusts its unblemished body to the eternal sail. If I can make my way to the other side of sorrow... then I won't even fear the lonely slumber anymore. MyTruth

Here, where the world is quiet; Here, where all trouble seems Dead winds' and spent waves' riot In doubtful dreams of dreams; I watch the green field growing For reaping folk and sowing, For harvest-time and mowing, A sleepy world of streams. I am tired of tears and laughter, And men that laugh and weep, Of what may came hereafter For men that sow to reap: I am weary of days and hours, Blown buds of barren flowers, Desires and dreams and powers And everything but sleep. Here life has death for neighbour, And far from eye or ear Wan waves and wet winds labour, Weak ships and spirits steer; They drive adrift, and whither They wot not who make thither; But no such winds blow hither, And no such things grow here. No growth of moor or coppice, No heather-flower or vine But bloomless buds of poppies, Green grapes of Proserpine. Pale beds of blowing rushes Where no leaf blooms or blushes Save this whereout she crushes For dead men deadly wine. Pale, without name or number, In fruitless fields of corn, They bow themselves and slumber All night till light is born; And like a soul belated, In hell and heaven unmated, By cloud and mist abated Comes out of darkness, morn. Though one were strong as seven, He too with death shall dwell, Nor wake with wings in heaven, Nor weep for pains in hell; Though one were fair as roses, His beauty clouds and closes; And well though love reposes, In the end, it is not well. Pale, beyond porch and portal, Crowned with calm leaves, she stands Who gathers all things mortal With cold immortal hands; Her languid lips are sweeter Than love's who fears to greet her To men that mix and meet her From many times and lands. She waits for each and other, She waits for all men born; Forgets the earth her mother, The life of fruits and corn; And spring and seed and swallow Take wing for her and follow Where summer song rings hollow And flowers are put to scorn. There go the loves that wither, The old loves with wearier wings; And all dead years draw thither, And all disastrous things; Dead dreams of days forsaken, Blind buds that snows have shaken, Wild leaves that winds have taken, Red strays of ruined springs. We are not sure of sorrow, And joy was never sure; Today will die tomorrow; Time stoops to no man's lure; And love, grown faint and fretful, With lips but half regretful Sighs, and with eyes forgetful Weeps that no loves endure. From too much love of living, From hope and fear set free, We thank with brief thanksgiving Whatever gods may be That no man lives for ever; That dead men rise up never; That even the weariest river Winds somewhere safe to sea. Then star nor sun shall waken, Nor any change of light; Nor sound of waters shaken, Nor any sound or sight; Nor wintry nor vernal, Nor days, nor things diurnal; Only the sleep eternal In an eternal night. Sinners in the hands of an Angry God by the Angry Quaker

Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, is by far one of the most notorious of all the fire and brimstone, hellfire and damnation sermons, it was initially preached by Jonathan Edwards, a prominent pompous Puritan prick/minister, in Enfield, Connecticut, in the year of 1741. As was customary in 18th century New England, the propaganda/sermon was printed and copies were distributed to an extensive audience. It was the first and most enduring expression of the pigheaded Calvinist dogma of the Great Awakening. After its initial presentation, the audience was so terrified that many were found openly crying. There were also a number of reports of swooning, outcries and convulsions from audience members. It was also reported that, unlike the stereotypical fire and brimstone preaching, Edwards read the sermon as if he was Ben Stein in a creepy monotone voice, and actually asked the audience to quiet down so he might finish his sermon. Here are just a few excerpts from Sinners in the hands of an Angry God by Jonathan Edwards. " The wrath of God burns against them, their damnation does not slumber; the pit is prepared, the fire is made ready, the furnace is now hot, ready to receive them; the flames do now rage and glow..." "God has laid himself under no obligation, by any promise to keep any natural man out of hell one moment. God certainly has made no promises either of eternal life, or of any deliverance or preservation from eternal death, but what are contained in the covenant of grace, the promises that are given in Christ, in whom all the promises are yea and amen. But surely they have no interest in the promises of the covenant of grace who are not the children of the covenant, who do not believe in any of the promises, and have no interest in the Mediator of the covenant... " You can read to the full sermon here. http://www.ccel.org/ccel/edwards/sermons.sinners.html You can listen to the full sermon here. http://www.sermonindex.net/modules/mydownloads/visit.php?lid=1729 Now for a retort by an Angry Quaker

Cantique de Jean Racine G. Fauré Corydon Singers

Word of God, our only hope, Eternal light of the earth and the heavens, We break the silence of the peaceful night; Divine Saviour, bestow Thy gaze eyes upon us ! Lay upon us the fire of Thy mighty grace, That all hell may flee the sound of Thy voice; Banish the slumber of a languishing soul, Which makes it forgetful of Thy laws ! O Christ, be mercyful to Thy faithful people Assembled here to praise Thee; Recaive the songs they offer to Thy immortal glory; May they return laden with Thy gifts. (Translated from hymns from the Roman Breviary) - Cantique de Jean Racine - Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) Corydon Singers English Chamber Orchestra Matthew Best The Cantique de Jean Racine, dedicated to César Franck, is an early work, dating from 1863. A recitent piece for four-part mixed choir and organ, it won the composer the first prize for composition at the Ecole Niedermeyer, where art that time he was still a student.
