CCVS155 THE WALLFLOWERS "When Your On Top"
CCVS155 THE WALLFLOWERS "When Your On Top" The Wallflowers are a Grammy Award-winning rock band from Los Angeles, California. http://www.wallflowers.com/site/ The band's self-titled debut album was released in 1992 on the Virgin Records label. Although praised by critics, it only sold 40,000 copies initially, but has sold an estimated 600,000 to date. The original members of the Wallflowers include vocalist and guitarist Jakob Dylan (the youngest son of Bob Dylan), bass player and background vocalist Barrie Maguire, Peter Yanowitz on drums, Rami Jaffee on keyboards, and guitarist Tobi Miller. This quintet broke up shortly after the album's release due to conflicts within the band, and with the record company. Though they played venues all around Los Angeles, their favorite was the Kibitz room of Canter's Delicatessen, a legendary Los Angeles hangout, where they played every Tuesday night, along with other bands, such as the Los Angeles group The Freewheelers. They soon grabbed the attention of groups such as 10,000 Maniacs, The Spin Doctors, Cracker, and Toad the Wet Sprocket, each of which invited the Wallflowers to join them on tour. The Wallflowers' sound is influenced by a variety of groups including bands such as Counting Crows, The Band, Bruce Springsteen, The Replacements, Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, and The Clash. Frontman Jakob Dylan said that the most influential album in his life is The Clash's London Calling: "They had something I could listen to that I wanted to associate." http://www.myspace.com/thewallflowers The band seemed quiet for a few years but stormed back on the scene with their 4x platinum 1996 release, Bringing Down the Horse, which comprised such hits as "6th Avenue Heartache," "One Headlight" , "The Difference," and "Three Marlenas." The band switched record labels, from Virgin to Interscope. For this album, Dylan was joined only by keyboardist Rami Jaffee from the original lineup. Guitarist Michael Ward, drummer Mario Calire, and bassist Greg Richling were called in to form the new band. "One Headlight" peaked at #2 on the charts and "6th Avenue Heartache" peaked at #33 on the charts. At the Grammy Awards of 1998, The Wallflowers walked away with two Grammys; one for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "One Headlight," and Jakob Dylan was awarded Best Rock Song for writing "One Headlight." Bruce Springsteen joined the Wallflowers for a live performance of their song "One Headlight," at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards. "One Headlight" was the #1 video of the year for 1997 on VH1 and #5 on MTV. The band toured extensively behind this album due to its continued success. The tour was extended during 1998 as the band had a hit song/video with a cover of David Bowie's "Heroes", which was the leadoff/featured track on the soundtrack to 1998's Godzilla. Godzilla The Album was also a hit, featuring new songs from Rage Against the Machine, Puff Daddy, and Ben Folds Five. This kept the band in the spotlight. They performed "Heroes" with a string section at the 1998 MTV Movie Awards. Although the band was popular, many critics shrugged at the Wallflowers' laid-back ethos; Trouser Press writer Jason Reeher famously wrote that the band were "the Dire Straits of the Alternative Nation." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wallflowers

H.O.T. - We Are The Future Performance
This video shows one of their performances for the song,"We Are The Future" by H.O.T. Not only for this performance for their fans and entertainment but also for raising money for a fundraiser and/or charity. H.O.T., short for "High Five of Teenagers," consisted of five members that played various instruments, that were under the label of SM Entertainment and appeared in the music scene around the year of 1996. As a group, they had great success in the late 1990s as they made some of their own songs and music while choreographed some, if not all, of their dance moves. Also, they were the first Korean group to ever had a concert at the Seoul Olympic Stadium because of their great success and fanbase. At one point in their career, they had their own soda brand which had a catch phrase, "I only drink H.O.T." They also starred in a movie called "Age of Peace" which were like a "Space Jam" typed movie, and had many awards, such as American MTV Video Award for Best International Video for the song "We Are The Future." However, they disbanded as a group on May 2001, though many fans hope that they would reunite as a group but for now, each members have other careers and lifestyles and have various success in their own ways. They were the first group in Korea to have their own "fan color," which were white, as that color is still represented for the former members. Former members include Kangta (Ahn Chil Hyun), Jang Woo Hyuk, Tony An, Moon Hee Jun, and Lee Jae Won. Even though they are disbanded as a group, they are still remembered by many fans and still famous throughout the world.

E - Type - True believer (live 2007)
Biography Martin 'E-Type' Eriksson has been known to a wide audience for a long time. It all started in 1991 when E-Type's debut single, "We've got the atmosphere", a collaboration with Stakka Bo, was released. The single climbed directly to the top of the Swedish charts. During the following year, E-Type became a well known figure in the Swedish entertainment world as a popular television host, film soundtrack composer and a song writer for several Swedish artists. In 1994, the solo career took off when E-Type, together with the producers Denniz Pop and Max Martin (Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, among others), began to work on material for the debut album, "Made In Sweden".In the summer of 1994, the first result of the collaboration, the single, "Set The World On Fire", climbed the Swedish charts. The follow-up single, "This Is The Way", like its predecessor, also became a Gold selling record. The debut album, "Made In Sweden", was released in November 1994.The Swedish successes of 1994 were rewarded by three well deserved awards at the Swedish Dance Music Awards. Following these successes, Europe began to show increased interest in the Swedish Platinum seller. The singles, "Set The World On Fire" and "This Is The Way", both entered the French and German Charts during 1995. During the Spring of 1996, the USA club scene became increasingly familiar with E-Type through "This Is The Way", which performed very well in the Billboard Club Chart. E-Type's second album, "The Explorer", was released in September 1996 and was also produced by Denniz Pop and Max Martin. The album has yielded no fewer than five successful singles. E-Types third album, "Last Man Standing", was released in November 1998 and in the Summer and Autumn of 1998, E-Type enjoyed even more success with the release of the singles, "Angels Crying" and "Here I Go Again". The following album "Euro IV Ever" also was a big success, with singles like "Life" and "Africa" doing well on the charts. Let's hope that the album released in the spring of 2004 will be even more successful. Since the E-type appears in Melodifestivalen with first single "Paradise", the chances are good! E-type has also been seen in within other domains than the music industry. In the year 2000, E-Type's first book, "Sveakampen" was published. The book is a semi-autobiography about Vikings in which the characters are based on E-Type's friends and acquaintances. By the end of 2001, Sveakampen was also available in the form of a computer game.
