These are the Pokemon he encounters along the way: *Pikachu (XGargoyle): The only things similar to the real Pikachu is a basic Quick Attack and a weird Thundereshock projectile. *Jigglypuff (Willoughby Jackson): This version of Jigglypuff has custom AI by NeoKamek. This is an unapproved edit, so please do not ask me for this Jigglypuff. *Registeel (Brandon Clay): Finally! More good Pokemon MUGEN characters. This hunk of metal has high defense (135) but balanced out with a lower attack (65) to compensate for its range. It has Regice and Regirock as strikers. Its two hypers I have seen are a damaging multi-hit attack and a Regi-ball attack, which is a massive sphere that does equally massive damage. *Blaziken (Brandon Clay): The evolved form of Combusken. This Pokemon is a fairly decent fighter. It has a damaging Sky Uppercut and a full-screen devolve flame attack (it devolves to Combusken then to Torchic). Team SHMUPS returns! This time, R-9 and Styx are joined by two more SHMUP ships: the Vic Viper of Gradius fame and the Opa-Opa from Sega's Fantasy Zone. I chose opponents which would make good shmup boss-type enemies. DDR's Marvin has tons of projectiles and strikers, all of which can be destroyed or deflected by shooting at them. Master Geese's projectile spamming is similar to a good shmup boss fight, and encourages dodging. However, with his insanely high defense and life, I had to edit out most of the chip damage parts of the round. Onslaught has strikers that can be shot down, but his flame pillar attacks spell instant death to any unshielded shmup ship. He can be hitstunned indefinitely wit ha rapid-firing shmup weapon like Opa-Opa's laser. Finally, a true shmup boss makes its appearance here. It's King Fossil from the Darius games. There is even a Darius scoreboard to replace the lifebars. The round against King Fossil begins with a pre-fight against small enemies. The famous Darius "boss approaching" screen even is here, signifying King Fossil's appearance. Just like in the original Darius game, King Fossil can only be damaged if its mouth is open, and it has a huge mouth laser. ================================= Stage BG: Dark Necrobat Stage (Megaman X5) BGM: Stage 7-1 (Gradius V)
