Ev'rybody Talkin' 'Bout Heav'n
This was the premier performance of the Ministry Of Dancing Essenes, Rechabites, Nazarites (MODERN), at a collaboration called Celebrate Dance in 1996. The piece was a part of a medley, and the effort eventually developed into a full-fledged, touring Christian Performing Arts Ministry. This 1st effort, though, represented my 1st time attempting blatantly Christian choreography. This original cast, believe it or not, was mostly (~75%) non-Christian. My friends, in order of appearance, are: (me), Bruce Smith, Mark Groll, Christopher A. Miller, Amanda Wagener, Susan Hedler, Vicki Humpert, Jovita Weibel. The people I hung out with in those days were very creative and talented...and fun. I miss them. The music is an incredible arrangement of an old American Negro Slave Spiritual song, as are most of the songs from this album. The 1st time I heard it, I was riveted to each moment of the music, in and of itself. The lyrics are derived from Matthew 7:21-23. GBU, MDJ. ^_^ Lyrics: Everybody talkin' 'bout heaven ain't goin' there. Oh my Lord. Well I read about the streets of gold and I read about the throne. Not everybody callin' "Lord, Lord!" is gonna see that heavenly home. Heaven! But those who do the will of my God will enter heaven. If you wanna go to heaven you gotta do more than talk about it. Do you wanna go to heaven, to heaven, to heaven. Oh heaven. Heaven! Don't you wanna go? I know I wanna go. Don't you wanna go? There will come a day when we'll all stand before the throne. On that day some will say: "Did we not prophesy in Your name?" And they'll say: "We drove out demons in Your name." I know some will say: "We performed many miracles in Your name." Some will say: "So many works we've done in Your name!" Then the Lord will say: "Depart from me you workers of iniquity. I never knew you." That's why I know everybody talkin' 'bout heaven ain't goin' there. Oh my Lord. Words and Music by George Pendergrass and John Green. Copyright © 1993 Anthony K. Music/ASCAP and Clifty Music (BMI). Performed by Acappella on their ACAPPELLA SPIRITUALS album, with guest vocalists who later became the group Anointed. Available for purchase at "www.theacappellacompany.com/seriesreleases.html"

Behind the Screens
Hollywood movies are rapidly becoming vehicles for the ulterior marketing and advertising motives of studios and their owners, rather than entertainment in their own right. Behind the Screens explores this trend toward "hypercommercialism" through phenomena such as product placement, tie-ins, merchandising and cross-promotions. It combines multiple examples taken directly from the movies with incisive interviews provided by film scholars, cultural critics, political economists, and an Oscar-nominated screenwriter. Behind the Screens presents an accessible argument designed for school and college-age audiences-- precisely the demographic most prized by both Hollywood studios and advertisers alike. It features examples drawn from movies such as Wayne's World, Forrest Gump, The Lion King, Summer of Sam, and Toy Story. Interviewees include Jeremy Pikser, Oscar-nominated screenwriter of the Warren Beatty film Bulworth; Mark Crispin Miller, Professor of Communication at New York University; Susan Douglas, Professor of Communication at the University of Michigan; Professor Robert W. McChesney of the Univeristy of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and Professor Janet Wasko of the university of Oregon.

The concept is that most of the characters on Prison Break want to find someone. Linc-Michael, Linc-LJ, Michael-Sara, T-Bag-Susan, Mahone-Michael, Abruzzi-Fibonacci and so on. This fanvid is about that. Difficult to describe but I hope you enjoy it! Song: "I Will Find You" - Clannad
